About the Lab

Underwood Dental Lab is a family-owned dental prosthetics lab in Joplin, Missouri, owned and operated by Randy and Caroline Underwoodsince 2004. We are a full-service dental lab, proud to be "big enough to handle it, small enough to care."

What We Do

Our mission at Underwood Dental Lab is to provide our doctors with excellent service, using cost-effective means with minimal turnaround. We highly value our doctors and their staff, and we work hard to make it show.

As a full-service dental lab, we can meet any of our clients' manufacturing needs. We even offer in-office training for everything from infection control to impression and model-pouring procedures.

At Underwood Dental Lab, every restoration is hand-crafted in-house by our skilled technicians. All repairs, including those that require welding, are completed in-house, saving you and your patient valuable time and money.

History

After purchasing Boever Dental Lab in July 2004, Randy and Caroline Underwood relocated their family to Joplin from Blue Springs, Missouri. In these early days, the lab was only producing dentures and partials, perhaps an occlusal guard on occasion. In 2006, the lab relocated and expanded, allowing for a new crown and bridge department. Which paved way for Cast partial work to be brought into house in 2009.

On May 22, 2011, the lab was severely damaged by a historic EF5 tornado. We relocated temporarily before arriving at our current location at 2125 South Jackson Avenue in Joplin. Since then, we have seen major equipment upgrades, which have allowed us to serve our clients more effectively and stay "big enough to handle it."
